304DX/EU-178 Ruhnu Island
Oct 28th 2009Ruhno QSL preview ...
Jun 14th 2009The first pictures & report of our recent trip to Ruhnu are online!
Jun 10th 2009The Shadow DX team is now back home in 21 division again. The Ruhnu Island expedition was a memorable event and ended with 604 stations logged from many different part of EU plus a few from SA. The result was an increase from last year with about 60 contacts which we are happy with, but we feel that even more is possible when F layer propagation improves and we are already thinking about a target for next year's WWRO Island Festival.
Thanks to everyone in the log and a big thanks to WWRO and its organizers of the Island Festival, this has been a great event! 53 islands is a fantastic result and compared to a year ago it is a big increase in activity - wow! Read more
Jun 6th 2009Propagation on Ruhnu is very slow, at the moment only 6 stations have made into the log. First station logged was 26DX047 Darran and longest distance so far 1AT070 Simon. We are operating with a FT-897 + Skypper antenna and 500 watts from an Ameritron ALS-500 mobile amp.
We will continue to be on the air and we are also arranging ground wave scheds tonight for anyone interested in 21, 56, 304, 310 and 311 division.
We will be at 27.520. GW scheds from other nearby divisions around the Baltics, please send a request via 47DX101 John. Read more

307DX/1 Kaliningrad
Dec 12th 2008
A trip to Kaliningrad has been on the Shadow DX’ers agenda for several years. This summer it finally happened when Chris 21DX116 and Patrik 21DX139 decided to face comrade Ivan’s border control and enter the beautiful national park of the Kuronian Spit. Dec 10th 2008After dinner we made another attempt to stir up a pile, but propagation was still limited but we had some very limited but strong signals from France and 9:53 we logged Vincent 14DX007 with a steady 5/7 signal. Just one more station logged this evening, but propagation to Vincent was open for some time. Eventually it was time to call it a day, and we returned to our room and went to sleep pretty early to get up for the morning opening..
